The Varsity Girls Soccer team captured their second PSAA Championship after completing an undefeated season on the heels of seniors Elizabeth Gahagan, Mira Lerner, Delilah Leibowitz, Olivia Piluso, and sophomore goaltender Jillian Narby. These seniors directed a squad of young freshman who benefited from their experience and leadership both on and off the field. The girls were dedicated, focused, disciplined, and motivated to show constant improvements and engage in competition. There was a palpable energy that encompassed every player. With their undefeated season intact, the girls were all set for the PSAA final versus rival Long Island Lutheran with whom they had tied twice during regular season play. The season culminated on Spirit Day when the girls were sent off from the Pep Rally with the support of the entire campus. The hard fought game came down to the last 50 seconds when freshman Marissa Stanco scored her second goal, giving the Panthers the 2-1 lead. At the conclusion of the game, the fans rushed the field to shower their athletes with support and appreciation. Stanco was awarded playoff MVP for her efforts, and Coach Francesca Woll was selected as PSAA Coach of the Year. The girls went on to compete in the NYSAISAA tournament but suffered a tough quarter-final loss to Rye Country Day School. Overall, it was an amazing season full of opportunity for the girls to showcase their talents and deliver success. GO PANTHERS!
