Peter Franklin Dunn Library
Our reading program this year was quite tremendous and it inspired us to make some changes to our Summer Reading Program. This year, each family will be guided by a list of recommended books (see below links to download the lists). We are asking that each child read at least 3 books from these lists, compiled to support the skill levels of all students in a variety of genres. Paper leaf templates were sent home with your child’s final reports. The idea is for you to cut out leaves and fill them out with the titles and authors of books your children read this summer, or books that are read to them. If you misplaced the template, no problem. Just do your best to create a leaf shape. When the children return to school in September, they will bring these leaves with them on their first day, so that our “Tree of Knowledge” will be a blaze of color as we start the new year!
We hope everyone has a wonderful time reading this summer. The summer reading lists are posted below.
