    MS: 8th Grade to NYSE

The 8th-grade students have a wonderful opportunity as they have been invited to tour and witness the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, December 2. Following our tour at the NYSE, the students will eat a bag lunch provided by Portledge and head to the One World Observatory, where they will have a 360-degree view of the New York City skyline from 100 stories above. On a clear day, the students can view six states: Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Delaware. The New York Stock Exchange and the One World Observatory support the 8th-grade curriculum as the students study the economic impact of the financial sector at various times in our history and the development of cities across the United States.

5th Grade Trip to Engeman Theater

In anticipation of this year's Spring Spectacular of Shrek, we will be visiting the Engeman Theater in Northport on December 11 to watch a performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to watch this show as our fifth graders prepare to take the stage this May at Portledge. We know this opportunity will give our students a close-up view of acting, stage direction, and working as a cast for an onstage performance. It will be a fantastic day off-Broadway!
    * We have arranged a small snack and drink for the children during the intermission.
