    Students blend creativity and exploration through daily art and science activities. During their Art Around the World part of the day, students explore different cultures with projects inspired by international art, learning fundamental art techniques, such as color mixing, drawing, shading, and texture. The ScienceWiz program combines inquiry, experimentation, and play! Students will receive their very own ScienceWiz™ kit and use it to dive deep into important scientific concepts, like electricity, sound, physics, and more!   • The Fashionable Stylist: Rising 3rd-8th

    Portledge School is thrilled to partner with The Fashionable Stylista to host a Fashion Design and Sewing Camp. This exciting camp offers students the chance to develop essential fashion design skills and experience what it’s like to step into the world of a future fashion designer. The week will conclude with a fabulous fashion show, where parents are invited to see students model their creations, including clothing and accessories they designed and crafted, as well as their illustrated fashion design
    Collections. Activities include hand sewing techniques, sewing with a machine, fashion illustration, fashion design skills (e.g., pinning and cutting patterns), and creating at least one clothing item and two accessories. Students will learn the entire design process, from brainstorming concepts and creating designs to completing their final projects. The camp not only builds confidence but also encourages creativity and self-expression!

    TGA's action-packed Golf and Pickleball Camp at Portledge School is the perfect place for kids to learn the fundamentals, improve skills, and advance their game in a safe and supportive environment.   • Grit Ninja Warrior: Rising K-5th

    The Grit Ninja has packed up equipment and is ready to turn Portledge School into a unique ninja warrior obstacle course! During each action-packed day, aspiring ninjas will climb, swing, jump and run on our ever-changing equipment (which includes a rock wall traverse, monkey bars, grip gauntlet, cliffhanger, balance courses, warped walls, and so much more)! The program is designed by The Grit Ninja’s professional coaches – many of whom have competed on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. Our coaches will guide ninjas as they tackle our fun obstacles that build strength, coordination, agility, balance, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, and, most importantly, GRIT!

  • Maker’s Camp: Rising K-5th

    This engineering camp sparks a passion for science and tech. Maker Kits boost mechanical, artistic, and engineering skills, encouraging students to become inventors. They design remote-controlled hydraulic arms and power race cars with energy and experiment with structural design. Strawbees, an award-winning prototyping toy, fosters creativity while students explore hands-on projects using plastic, paper, and other polymers. Build a Bot offers an immersive STEAM experience, where students practice their engineering skills to create a series of robot models with different mechanisms and purposes. This camp is fully aligned with NGSS standards, and students even get to keep their Bots and other creations to proudly share with family and friends.

  • Jam Studio Camp: Rising 6th-8th

    Jam Studio Camp is a high-energy two-week camp that allows middle school students to have fun not only learning to play Rock/Pop music together in a band but also, having a unique experience to record their songs in a professional style recording studio. Students will have instrument-specific masterclasses where they will study and explore the techniques of great musicians. Additionally, each student will join a 'band' where they will pick songs, rehearse, and practice for a performance. On the last day of camp, the students will get on stage and give a live concert to share their pieces with an audience. The performance will be recorded and sent to families. Students will also create websites for their band and can learn about the music business as well.

  • The Streetwise Business Lab: Rising 6th-12th

    This immersive 2-week boot camp is designed for young aspiring entrepreneurs who are ready to challenge themselves and learn in a rigorous, real-world environment. Modeled after the prestigious Harvard Business School (HBS) curriculum, this graduate-level program will push students to think critically, question assumptions, and develop the skills needed to launch a legitimate business. Over the course of two weeks, students will work on creating their own business plans and receive guidance and support from a seasoned HBS MBA and entrepreneur. The program is demanding, but for those who are willing to take it on, it offers invaluable skills in preparation for future academic and professional success.
     
    The boot camp emphasizes practical application, personal development, and business education. Students will engage in dynamic activities, including business plan deep dives, mock case scenarios, sales and negotiation simulations, and TED Talk-style presentations on their passions. They will also tackle challenges like the “Earn $100” competition and develop emotional intelligence and self-awareness through critical thinking exercises. This program goes beyond theory, equipping young minds with the skills to think like a leader and an entrepreneur.

  • AI Pioneers: Rising 6th-8th

    In AI Pioneers, our emerging engineers will learn how to create projects for social good with Python programming language. Through hands-on coding, students will learn how computers can use data to solve complex problems like natural language processing and computer vision. Led by Stanford, MIT, and Ivy League alumni and grad students,  students will explore the ways they can meaningfully use AI to predict heart disease, create social robots, assist with disaster relief, and navigate autonomous vehicles. 

    In our curriculum, we emphasize ethical responsibility, career paths in artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary applications!   • The Streetwise Business Lab: Rising 6th-12th

    This immersive 2-week boot camp is designed for young aspiring entrepreneurs who are ready to challenge themselves and learn in a rigorous, real-world environment. Modeled after the prestigious Harvard Business School (HBS) curriculum, this graduate-level program will push students to think critically, question assumptions, and develop the skills needed to launch a legitimate business. Over the course of two weeks, students will work on creating their own business plans and receive guidance and support from a seasoned HBS MBA and entrepreneur. The program is demanding, but for those who are willing to take it on, it offers invaluable skills in preparation for future academic and professional success.
     
    The boot camp emphasizes practical application, personal development, and business education. Students will engage in dynamic activities, including business plan deep dives, mock case scenarios, sales and negotiation simulations, and TED Talk-style presentations on their passions. They will also tackle challenges like the “Earn $100” competition and develop emotional intelligence and self-awareness through critical thinking exercises. This program goes beyond theory, equipping young minds with the skills to think like a leader and an entrepreneur.

  • AI Scholars: Rising 9th-12th

    What do self-driving cars, Alexa, iPhone's face recognition technology, and ChatGPT have in common? They are driven by modern advances in artificial intelligence. Whether you’re interested in law, healthcare, art, or economics, AI is poised to transform every discipline and industry in the future. AI is already all around us today, and by the end of the program, students will understand the underlying concepts and motivations behind technology such as computer vision, natural language processing, and neural networks.
     
    In this course, we will explore the foundations of machine learning and explore different applications of machine learning models. In the first half of the course, students learn AI’s core technologies including applications, foundational concepts, and programming tools through live lectures and coding labs. Students will not only learn about different types of machine learning models but also apply those models to real data sets. In the second half of the course, students will complete an instructor-led group project applying AI to the discipline of their choice (e.g., music, healthcare, astrophysics, finance, etc.), utilizing the programming skills they developed in the first half.

  • Pre-Med with NYU Langone: Rising 9th-12th

    This 5-day Medical Skills and Health Education Curriculum is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive foundation in key medical concepts, practical skills, and emergency response techniques, with certification opportunities throughout the program. The course covers a range of essential topics, including anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular and pulmonary health, mental health support, and emergency first aid. Participants will engage in a combination of lectures, hands-on activities, and interactive demonstrations to deepen their understanding of these systems, develop critical practical skills, and earn certifications in life-saving techniques like CPR, Mental Health First Aid, and Stop the Bleed. Each day offers a balanced mix of theory and practice, ensuring participants leave with the knowledge and confidence to apply their skills in a variety of real-world settings.
