As members of the Portledge community, we uphold the four pillars of Kindness, Purpose, Honor, and Respect, which serve as guiding principles in our daily lives. The Portledge community supports students in exploring and finding their passions both within and beyond the classroom. This page celebrates our students’ journey toward unlocking their capabilities and discovering their calling.

Nate B.’25 hit the slopes and aimed for the summit at the Junior National Freestyle Skiing Championship! Nate ultimately finished 29th in the Moguls competition and secured an impressive 30th place in the Duals Mogul competition.

Skylar F.'26 embarked on an incredible journey this past fall, golfing an impressive 100 holes to raise vital funds for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. Skylar's efforts will make a significant difference in the lives of countless families facing challenging diagnoses!

Joshua L.’27 was selected to represent Portledge at the National Youth Orchestra 2. This is an esteemed honor, as just three students from New York were selected. Joshua is set to take the stage this summer at Carnegie Hall in conjunction with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States and five other international youth orchestras. 

Lucy X.'28, an accomplished cellist, shines outside the Portledge campus as part of the Musart Music group. Among her favorite performances is Mendelssohn's Piano Trio, which showcases her talent and passion for music!

Carter A.’29, a standout on the Portledge Boys Varsity Basketball team as a 7th grader, now shines in the elite New York Lightning basketball program. Recognized as the 24th-ranked 7th-grader nationally by Rise Rankings, Carter was invited to compete in the prestigious New York vs. New Jersey Middle School All-Star game. 
 
Connor L.‘29 merged his passion for sports and broadcasting by producing a podcast. NY Flight Jets Talk boasts 650 YouTube subscribers and 7,000 watch hours, featuring esteemed guests like ESPN NFL analyst Adam Schefter. 

Maya V.’31 clinched 2nd place in the 2024 ALL GIRLS’ NYC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP's K-12 Classic and dominated the K-6 under 900 category at the 7TH ANNUAL NYS GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP 2024, taking 1st place! Her sister, Lily V. ‘34, placed 11th in the K-6 under 600 category.
